Mattotti's New York

Last night the exhibition Lorenzo Mattotti: Covers for The New Yorker opened at the Italian Cultural Institute of New York, which shows works by one of my favorite illustrator and comic artist Lorenzo Mattotti.

"Curated by Melania Gazzotti, the exhibition collects for the first time the original pastels created by Lorenzo Mattotti for 32 of the magazine’s covers, along with numerous unpublished preparatory sketches and a selection of his illustrations for articles on fashion, culture, and current affairs. The exhibition will be on view until March 8th, Monday through Friday, 10am to 5pm."

It's a must see show, especially because one can see how small and precious are the originals.
The show is accompanied with an extensive catalog including, not only all the covers, but also
many sketches.
